Stress

I am ridiculously stressed right now. I recorded a different video and it got messed up while editing so now I think I have to redo the whole editing process if not scrap it, I'm trying to get a new license because mine went missing and I have no valid photo ID, and I'm trying to avoid moving back to Methuen for as long as possible. Please forgive me if my videos are a little snippier than usual because I am reeeeally in over my head.

New Video!

I'm stuck in Methuen for six days, so I'm being really productive and making videos and working on my cosplays. Have a video! Record edit and upload time, beeteedubs. Less than 24 hours.

Crafts 'n Shit

I have this problem where I get really excited to make things and I'm fairly creative but can't actually execute my ideas for shiiiiit. I love crafting, and I love Mod Podge, and I love being creative, but I just can't make my ideas... well, work.

I'm currently working on two projects. Number one- I'm making a paper wreath to put on the door to my room after Ash moves out (this coming Saturday). I'm cutting petals out of pages from a dollar-store romance novel and gluing them in rings, kinda like so, except with words instead of music, and fanning out from the center with no hole instead of swirling in a circle. I'm going to put a big red heart in the middle or something deep and meaningful like that.

The other project (projects?) I'm working on is my Anime Boston costumery. I'm going all three days. Friday, I'm going as Pinkie Pie from MLP, wearing a pink t-shirt I'm making her cutie mark on via felt and glue gun, a pink tulle tutu (holy shit so much pink tulle everywhere), yellow leggings, pink hightops, and a blue hairbow. Other pink, yellow, and blue accessories may be included. Saturday is my biggest costume day, and I'm going as Pinkie Pie on Halloween. My friend, Alexa, made a good costume for Twilight Sparkle on Halloween, and hopefully we can hang out together so our costumes make a little more sense in context. I'm making the top half out of a white tshirt with white feather boas all over it (nothing says convention like buying eight white feather boas at AC Moore). I'm making a white tutu using the same method as before, except both times I'm doing it with elastic hot-glued in place instead of ribbon and fabric. I also found a much faster (but less neat) method of cutting the tulle. You just bunch it into one long strand (if you're like me and bought six yards of hot pink tulle at a time in one giant cut of fabric) and cut off two-inch chunks. Let them fall on the floor as you snip away and expand out into big long two-inch-wide strips of tulle. Anywho, I bought white leggings at Walmart for like six dollars and yellow Rit dye on sale at Jo-Ann's. I am going to dye the leggings yellow and hope for the best (and use them for Friday, too). Same pink hightops. I'm wrapping one boa into a sort of hat with a red felt comb on top for the head, using a ribbon to tie it in place around my chin. I'm intending to carry around a sack of candy to give people if they want. Sunday, I'm going to be a really lazy Rainbow Dash. I already have a rainbow tutu and a blue shirt in her color, and I'm making her cutie mark out of felt to whipstitch onto the shirt. I have white Converse that I've drawn on in the past but I'm going to try and bleach them to redo them in rainbow stripes. Black leggings. Rainbow kneesocks. Maybe whipstitching blue felt wings on the back. Rainbow hairbow. Rainbow accessories (I have a lot of them). Hooray. Lazy as shit.

I'm mad excited for AB. I was talking with Brandon as I was cutting tulle about how half the fun of conventions is preparing and the anticipation when making a cosplay. I'm hoping all my ideas work out... So far I've only started the pink tutu. Wish me luck.
